APRS has developed a special program "Women's Health Initiative" to address the unique health concerns of women.

Our Physical Therapists will evaluate your problem and develop an individualized treatment plan in coordination with your physician's medical plan.

If you have one of these health concerns you might benefit from Physical Therapy. Ask your physician to refer you to a Physical Therapist who is specialized in these areas:

OSTEOPOROSIS:
Bones become brittle and break as we age. More than 25 million Americans have this disease.

URINARY INCONTINENCE:
Aging, pregnancy, childbirth, chronic constipation and chronic coughing can weaken pelvic floor muscles.

AFTER BREAST SURGERY:
Stiffness, pain and swelling following mastectomy, lumpectomy or reconstruction surgery can irritate or disturb the soft tissue in the shoulder, chest wall and under the arm.

LYMPHEDEMA:
Swelling of the arm or leg when drainage of the lymphatic fluid is disrupted. Lymphedema occurs most commonly in women who have had breast surgery or following injury or an infection.

PELVIC PAIN:
This may be problems in the muscles, joints or nerves. It can be associated with prolonged sitting, intercourse or urination. It may include lower abdominal pain or numbness and tingling in the vaginal region.

AFTER ABDOMINAL SURGERY:
Disruption or weakness in the abdominal muscles following a hysterectomy, removal of cysts or hernia repair may make movement difficult and lead to poor posture.

DURING PREGNANCY:
Due to changes in the body during pregnancy, women suffer from back pain and other orthopedic problems.

THESE CONDITIONS AFFECT THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR WOMEN WHO SUFFER THEM. LET US HELP!
